Buck Lake #7 ~ Testimonials

Buck lake #7 Experience
Summer 2017

Good morning Heidi,

We just wanted to take a minute to let you know all about our experience at Buck Lake #7.

The size of the cottage was perfect for our two families. The open main living space was awesome! Fully equipped kitchen was perfect. (Could use a cookie sheet though!) The island in the kitchen was a nice and welcomed surprise! The bedroom upstairs accommodated all 5 kids in their own beds! Couldn't have been more excited about this. The other bedroom upstairs (on the same side as the bathroom) could use a mattress upgrade. Otherwise wonderful with a great view. The bedroom on the main floor was spacious and the huge closet was nice!

The lake was warm which was ideal for our triathlon training. We even swam in the rain. The kids loved the sandy beach area and the swimming raft. The paddle boat and canoe were also a huge hit for everyone. Fishing was excellent. We brought our own boat and found a "fishing hole". The road into the cottage was great for running (from the cottage to the stop sign and back was 5km)! The fire pit was enjoyable. The large, flat front yard was perfect for enjoying frisbee and washer toss.

The kids caught a toad and minnows. We saw two garter snakes. A few bullfrogs. A jack rabbit. A raccoon. One loon. Geese. A deer. And some moose tracks. Deer flies, black flies and mosquitoes were pretty bad. But, I think that's true for everywhere this year because of the rain.

Overall experience was amazing. We love this cottage and hope to return next year!! Thank you most sincerely. Great memories were made!

We have definitely found the cottage for us. It met all our criteria. We will be back next summer!

We had a fantastic time out at the cottage. It was very easy to find and when we got there it was all tidy and neat but there were a few things we noticed.

The light upstairs in one of the bed rooms was out and we did change the bulb, One of the Green chairs from outside is broken as one of the girls is a bigger lady and when she went to go sit on it the leg broke right off, I'm not sure if it was maybe cracked before she sat on it because those chairs are not easily breakable, I do acknowledge that it will come out of the deposit and I don't imagine it would be more then $20.
We did buy some wood from one of the local neighbors and there was some left over and I left it by the tree for the next renters to use and I didn't want to bring it back home and we didn't get a chance to burn it all, I hope you don't mind.

Thanks again we had a great time and look forward to booking with you in the future.

I would simply like to express our deep appreciation for the excellent service offered by Northern Retreats this summer.
It was our first experience using your expertise and reservation office, and we were very satisfied with the cottages that we rented: clean, situated exactly as described, and offering all the amenities promised.
Instructions to get tot he cottages were clear, and all of the administrative arrangements were straightforward and easy to understand.
We found your approach to be extremely helpful and attentive, particularly appreciated your energetic follow up to help us when we left behind some clothing.
All in all, I would like to congratulate you for work well done, and look forward to another opportunity to rent through you in the near future.

Wishing you all of the best,
Ted Whiteside

P.S. I received the clothes.

All things considered, it was a blast and a half--literally, in one respect, as one of the neighbours on the lake opted to do some early-morning, shotgun-style, Canada goose hunting, the results of which washed onto the beach. Too bad for the goose, I suppose...thank goodness it wasn't either of the two deer we had the pleasure of seeing.

The weather held up for the better part of the week and the fishing was (I'm told) pretty good, so the elements did their part, and you certainly did yours (on such short notice, too). I would like to thank you sincerely for arranging everything and for providing such a great holiday. I'd be most interested in a return engagement at some point in the near-future--I'll be checking your website frequently. What an awesome cottage and location!

Hi Amy,

I was just thinking about e-mailing you today about that. I didn't actually go to the cottage afterall.
I had a last minute emergency, (nothing too major) so my daughter and her husband went without us.
They raved about the place, said it was fantastic.
Thank you again for being so accommodating!!

Dear Heidi and Amy

Wow, what a fantastic vacation, we had a wonderful time...with family just
15minutes away on Doe lake and my brother flying in from Minden, the time
 "flew" by...

Our children enjoyed the water, beach and campfires.

Please extend our heartfelt thank you, to the owners, without people
sharing their little pieces of heaven such as Buck Lake #7 we would never
experience the beauty of the north.  The property is fabulous and was
perfect for our families. Very nice spot.. just perfect.

Amy, I have some pictures of Conner in my brothers plane and a couple of
shots of buck lake from the air, will forward once I down load them.

Many thanks again and we would be interested in the property next year or
 even perhaps a smaller cottage.

Will recommend your site highly to my friends....

Have a safe and happy long weekend.

 Kindest regards,
